Canistered Mixed Metal Oxides (MMO) Coated Anode

These MMO canister anodes are widely utilized for impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) of metallic pipelines and storage tanks. They are particularly suitable for installation in:

  • Shallow vertical or horizontal surface ground beds
  • Wet, marshy soil conditions prone to caving
  • Canistered Mixed Metal Oxides (MMO) Coated Anode

Description

Our MMO canister anodes are fabricated from high-tensile titanium that complies with the commercial ASTM B338 Grade I standard. The elemental composition limits for ASTM B338 Grade I and Grade II titanium are specified in the table below:

Technical Parameter
Our MMO canister anodes feature a standard iridium-tantalum (Ir-Ta) mixed metal oxide coating, which is specifically recommended for applications in soil environments with zero or low chloride ion concentrations.Accelerated life tests conducted by an independent third-party laboratory have validated that our MMO coating delivers superior performance compared to alternative products available in the market.

Customization Available: We can tailor the coating formulation by adjusting noble metal oxide ratios and coating thickness to match specific operational requirements.

The key technical specifications of the standard coating are as follows:

Electrochemical Performance
The current output of MMO canister anodes varies across different service media, ranging from soil to seawater. Anode service life can be extended by either increasing the coating thickness or reducing the operating current density.
The table below outlines the electrochemical performance of YUXI MMO tubular anodes in a coke breeze environment at a current density of 100 A/m²:
