BaiQi Metal brand electrolytic (salt) sodium hypochlorite generator consists of a water softener, brine tank, ion-exchange membrane electrolyzer, electrolysis power supply (including control system), sodium hypochlorite storage tank, and sodium hypochlorite dosing system.
The ion-exchange membrane electrolyzer performs cyclic electrolysis of saturated brine. Chlorine gas (Cl₂) generated at the anode and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) produced at the cathode react in the sodium hypochlorite storage tank to form a sodium hypochlorite solution.
Electrolytic Reaction Process:
Reaction Principle: NaCl+H2O+DC→NaClO+H2
Electrode Reactions: Anode: 2Cl−−2e−→Cl2↑
Cathode: 2H2O+2e−→H2↑+2OH−
Solution Reaction: 2NaOH+Cl2→NaCl+NaClO+H2O
Chemical Reaction Equations:
Anode (oxidation, electrons lost): 2Cl−−2e−=Cl2↑
Cathode (reduction, electrons gained): 2H++2e−=H2↑
Reaction ① (electrolysis): 2NaCl+2H2O→(electrolysis) → 2NaOH+H2↑+Cl2↑
Reaction ② (solution reaction): 2NaOH+Cl2→NaCl+NaClO+H2O
Overall reaction (① + ②): NaCl+H2O→NaClO+H2↑
