Description

PEM Electrolysis Technology

Only pure water is required to produce high-purity hydrogen and oxygen, with no impurity contamination during the electrolysis process.
Using PEM technology, pure water with a conductivity of ≤5μS/cm is fed into the anode chamber of the electrolyzer and supplied to the membrane electrode assembly. On the anode side, the reaction releases oxygen, hydrogen ions and electrons (2H₂O → 4H⁺ + 4e⁻ + O₂).
Electrons are transferred to the cathode through an external circuit, while hydrogen ions (H⁺) pass through the proton exchange membrane to reach the cathode, where they absorb electrons to form hydrogen gas (4H⁺ + 4e⁻ → 2H₂). The hydrogen gas is discharged from the cathode chamber, and pure hydrogen gas is produced after gas-water separation in the gas-water separator.
